Liposonix is:
Safe, non-surgical and non-invasive
A revolutionary treatment using high-intensity focused ultrasound to treat and eliminate stubborn fat. The treatment is quite comfortable, and it’s also capable of removing cellulite from problem areas.
Perfect for people close to their ideal size and shape – but need help where diet and exercise just won’t work
Sometimes, you just need a little help getting to your ideal shape – a Liposonix treatment may be the answer you’ve been looking for.

Background of Liposonix
Liposonix received its FDA approval in September 2011 and since then Liposonix has been used in numerous countries to eliminate stubborn fat and reduce and improve the appearance of cellulite.

How Does It Work?
Although it’s a very popular treatment, a lot of people still don’t know how Liposonix works. The procedure uses high-intensity ultrasound waves. Also called HIFU, the focused ultrasound causes fat cells to die, and it works safely and effectively. By focusing intense ultrasound energy about one to two centimeters below your skin’s surface it is able to kill fat cells while avoiding trauma and burns to the skin.

How does Liposonix kill fat cells and what happens to them?
When your fat cells are gently blasted with the ultrasound energy, they become disrupted and trigger the body’s inflammatory response. The fat cells become surrounded by macrophages, which are special cells within the body. These cells begin to move the cellular debris through your venous and lymphatic systems. Eventually, the fat cells are moved to the liver. Although it sounds fast, the process can take between four to eight weeks.
The liver handles the disrupted fat cells the same way that it handles fat cells that you eat and metabolizes them. Unlike some other procedures, Liposonix hasn’t been shown to increase the size of other areas of the body, so it doesn’t redistribute the fat cells elsewhere in your body.

The Procedure itself
The treatment head of the Liposonix system is placed on the area to be treated.
High-intensity ultrasound energy focuses on the targeted fat, destroying fat cells beneath the surface layers of the skin.
A continuous lesion is created in the targeted fat and the skin layer is not harmed.
Duration:
Liposonix treatments are usually between 45 minutes to an hour for each area.
During treatment, patients may feel discomfort, cold, prickling, tingling, or warmth.
After treatment, patients may experience some discomfort (pain), bruising, redness, and swelling, which are generally described as mild.

How long until results are seen
Results are typically seen between 8 to 12 weeks (which is the time needed for the body to naturally process the treated fat).
Liposonix is not liposuction or surgery and is not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle and exercise, and is not a way to lose weight. But it is a quick, easy way to help you slim those last few inches which are resistant to diet and exercise and hit your personal shape goals.

Are You a Candidate for Liposonix?
Liposonix is not for everyone. But if you are close to your ideal size and have stubborn, unwanted fat around your waistline you just can’t seem to get rid of with diet and exercise, then yes, Liposonix may be for you.
Candidates for Liposonix treatment must:
Be able to “pinch-an-inch” (2.5 cm) of fat in the treatment area
Have a body mass index (BMI) equal to or less than 30
Have good overall health
Have realistic expectations about the results
